David’s words to his
son, Solomon, are seen as a charge with the Lord’s intent and purpose in mind.
God had a house for Solomon to build. Like any father would do, David
encourages him to be strong and do it. The words are for the son’s
consideration. He was to think about what the Lord wants him to do, be strong
and do it. What about us? We should always consider what the Lord wants us to
be doing. What is the Lord’s will for us? Sometimes, it may be that which is
difficult; therefore, be strong and do it.
